The posting

Overview

We’re looking for a Senior UX Engineer who combines strong engineering skills with strong design sensibility and a deep commitment to craft, usability, and end-to-end experiences. This person will work at the intersection of design and engineering, helping us rapidly explore ideas and turn promising concepts into real product experiences.

You’ll think holistically about user journeys and jobs to be done, while having the technical depth to build proofs of concept, prototype new interactions, and contribute production code that improves the experiences our customers use every day.

You’ll thrive here if you’re energized by frontier technologies, experimentation, and learning, and if you bring curiosity, initiative, and a positive, collaborative spirit to the people around you.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Partner closely with designers, engineers, and product managers to explore and build new product experiences.
  • Translate user needs, journeys, and jobs to be done into thoughtful, well-crafted interactions.
  • Design and build functional prototypes and proofs of concept to test ideas quickly.
  • Contribute production-quality code to improve customer experiences in shipping products.
  • Use AI as part of your everyday workflow to accelerate ideation, prototyping, development, and experimentation.
  • Explore and build AI-powered tools or workflows that help the team work more effectively.
  • Move fluidly between design thinking and technical implementation, helping close the gap between an experience vision and what can actually ship.
  • Conduct lightweight user research and evaluative studies to gather feedback quickly on concepts, prototypes, and working experiences.
  • Plan and lead focused user studies when appropriate, using findings to test hypotheses and rapidly iterate on solutions.
  • Partner with UX researchers while also being comfortable independently gathering the user feedback needed to answer immediate product and design questions.
  • Experiment rapidly, learn from what works and what doesn’t, and help promising ideas mature into durable product experiences.
  • Advocate for experience quality and craft throughout the product development process.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production codeOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software engineering or front-end development, with the ability to contribute to production code.
  • Demonstrated experience with UX, product design, interaction design, or another design discipline.
  • Strong product and design judgment with close attention to interaction details and craft.
  • Ability to think beyond individual features and understand end-to-end user journeys.
  • Experience building interactive prototypes or proofs of concept.
  • High comfort using AI-assisted tools in design and development workflows.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging and frontier technologies, with a desire to explore what’s newly possible.
  • Curiosity about users and a strong instinct to seek evidence rather than rely solely on assumptions.
  • Comfort conducting user research and leading focused studies independently to gather actionable feedback quickly.
  • Ability to synthesize user feedback and translate insights into design and engineering decisions.
  • A proactive, self-directed working style and the ability to make progress independently in ambiguous situations.
  • A highly collaborative approach and an instinct to bring others into the work, share ideas, and build on the thinking of teammates.
  • A constructive, positive presence who contributes to an environment where people enjoy experimenting, learning, and building together.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with significant experimentation and rapid iteration.
  • Experience designing or building products for developers.
  • Understanding of enterprise developers, developer workflows, and the needs of large organizations.
  • Experience with AI-powered developer tools or AI-native product experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
