Overview

Are you passionate about cloud platforms, intuitive developer experiences, and building tools that empower developers? Do you want to shape how developers and AI agents build on Azure? Are you excited about creating the libraries, tools, and agent experiences that make Azure easier to discover, understand, and use?

The Cloud App and Tools team in CoreAI is looking for a Software Engineer 2 - CoreAI to help us build the next generation of Azure libraries and developer tooling. Our mission is to make Azure libraries and tools the best way for developers and AI agents to build on Azure, with experiences that are intuitive, high-quality, consistent, and designed for modern development workflows.

Our work spans Azure SDKs and client libraries, SDK authoring and validation, the Azure Developer CLI (azd), and emerging agent experiences including Azure MCP and Azure Skills. We build the tools, infrastructure, and experiences that help Azure service teams expose their capabilities effectively to developers and agents, while continuously improving the end-to-end Azure developer experience.

We develop much of our tooling and libraries as open-source projects, working in the open to foster transparency, community engagement, and high-quality engineering. We collaborate closely across Azure SDK language ecosystems and with Azure service teams to create consistent experiences across languages, tools, and agentic development workflows.

Why Join Us?

  • Build Azure SDKs, libraries, and tools used to create high-quality experiences for developers building on Azure.
  • Help define how developers and AI agents interact with Azure, spanning SDKs, azd, Azure MCP, Azure Skills, and emerging agentic experiences.
  • Shape the future of AI-assisted and agentic developer tooling at Microsoft.
  • Work in open source and collaborate across languages, Azure services, and developer communities.
  • Make a tangible impact on Azure by making its libraries and tools easier to discover, understand, and use for both humans and agents.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day, we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.

  • Collaborate with Azure service teams to understand their needs and make it easier for them to deliver great developer and agent experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
