EQST UI Engineer

About Millennium

Millennium is a global, diversified alternative investment firm, founded in 1989. Defined by evolution, innovation and focus, Millennium’s mission is to deliver results for our investors.

Our people are empowered with both independence and support: the autonomy to pursue ideas with conviction and the backing of a global network committed to collaboration, disciplined risk management and continuous learning. With opportunities to deepen expertise and accelerate development, talent at Millennium is equipped to adapt, evolve and build lasting impact over time. Discover how transformative growth accelerates impact.

Meet the Team

Information Technology is core to the health and growth of Millennium’s business. The firm’s active, multi-manager model depends on flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including next-generation analytical and trading capabilities. The Skyline team is building a shared UI platform of workspaces, panels, components, and services that delivers consistent, responsive user experiences across the firm’s trading and operational systems.

What You'll Do

· Build and evolve real-time web applications on the Skyline platform using TypeScript, React, and modern frontend engineering practices.

· Design and deliver intuitive interfaces for order creation and management, blotters, risk management, market monitoring, and operational workflows.

· Develop reusable components, panels, workspace capabilities, and interaction patterns that can be adopted across multiple applications.

· Transform high-volume financial and operational data into clear, responsive visual experiences while maintaining performance.

· Work with server-side components and APIs to shape, aggregate, filter, and apply business logic to data when required by the workflow.

· Partner with investment professionals, subject-matter experts, and technology teams to clarify requirements, prototype solutions, incorporate feedback, and deliver production software.

· Own features end to end, from problem definition and architecture decisions through implementation, testing, documentation, rollout, and support.

· Use Claude Code through Millennium’s internal AI tooling throughout the SDLC while applying sound engineering judgment to validate architecture, edge cases, performance, security, maintainability, and user outcomes.

What You Bring

· Three or more years of professional experience building real-time production web applications, or equivalent evidence of strong engineering ability.

· Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills, including modern ES6+ patterns, and deep experience with React and component-based UI development.

· Experience managing complex client-side state, asynchronous data flows, and real-time or data-intensive applications using technologies such as WebSockets, streaming APIs, WebWorkers, or Canvas.

· Experience integrating user-facing applications with services and APIs using technologies such as Electron, Node.js, GraphQL, gRPC, or comparable tools.

· Strong HTML5, CSS3, and responsive-design skills; experience with SASS or comparable styling systems is helpful.

· A performance mindset, including an understanding of rendering cost, browser memory, network behavior, and how to keep rich interfaces responsive.

· Experience with automated testing, debugging, code review, production support, wireframing, prototyping, and user-centered design for user-facing applications.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Salary Range

Millennium offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
