The posting
At MindWave we’re not just building teams. We’re building a new way of working with an international community of experts who thrive in an innovative and people-first environment.
For a key player in the European energy transition, we are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to bring the user perspective into a portfolio of digital platforms—from initial discovery and research to interaction design and validation.
In this role, you will work across customer-facing portals, developer and API platforms, and internal back-office tools, creating seamless journeys for energy-market stakeholders and contributing to a sustainable, reliable energy landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading end-to-end UX research (user interviews, contextual observations, usability tests, and surveys) and centralizing insights in a structured research repository
- Facilitating framing, ideation, and co-design workshops with business stakeholders, IT squads, and end users
- Analyzing quantitative user behavior using web analytics (such as Matomo) and heatmaps to uncover pain points and drop-offs
- Building and refining personas, empathy maps, experience maps, and end-to-end user journeys
- Defining interaction models and measuring product success against clear usability benchmarks and KPIs
- Designing low-to-high fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, user flows, and site maps, presenting solutions persuasively to stakeholders
- Collaborating closely with UI designers to ensure strict alignment with the design system while actively contributing to the wider UX chapter
Requirements
Your Profile:
- 7+ years of experience applying Design Thinking methodologies in Agile environments, with mastery of both qualitative and quantitative research methods
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in interaction design and information architecture
- A formal qualification in UX (Master’s degree, recognized professional certification, or equivalent practical background)
- Advanced proficiency in Figma (wireframes, prototypes, user flows; experience with design systems is a plus), alongside tools like Miro, PowerPoint, and Matomo (experience with Condens is a strong plus)
- Proven track record in facilitating collaborative workshops with cross-functional and large stakeholder groups
- Strong communication, storytelling, and synthesis skills, combined with a pragmatic, autonomous, and resilient delivery mindset
- Good working proficiency in Dutch and/or French, alongside fluent English; German is an asset
- Valid authorization to work in Belgium (EU citizen or valid Belgian work/residence permit) Soft Skills and the MindWave Mindset
- At MindWave, we value people who are not only strong in what they do, but also in how they work with others.
- You take ownership and feel comfortable working with a high level of autonomy. You don’t wait for perfect instructions before moving forward: you explore, challenge assumptions and turn ideas into working solutions.
- You combine thoroughness with pragmatism and communicate openly when you see opportunities, risks or better ways of doing things. You enjoy collaborating across disciplines and can explain complex technical ideas clearly.
- Curiosity is part of how you work. You’re interested in the possibilities of AI and new technologies, eager to experiment and happy to share what you learn with the wider community.
- Above all, you value transparency, trust and human connection. Because at MindWave, we believe the best results come from strong experts who are given the freedom and support to do meaningful work.
