What you’ll do
You will join our AI & Automation Team and work end to end: from sitting with stakeholders to understand how they actually work, to designing, building, and running the solutions that make their processes better.
This is not a ticket-driven development role, and it is not a pure product role either. Think of it as an internal consultant with an engineer's toolkit. You will shadow teams across the company - investor services, partnerships, marketing, risk, compliance - question how their processes work, and identify chokepoints, repetition, and compliance or security gaps. Then you'll propose options with honest trade-offs and own the delivery: implementation, testing, monitoring, and maintenance.
Sometimes the best solution is an automation you build. Sometimes it's configuring a third-party tool, restructuring a process, or standardising how a team works. And sometimes the right recommendation is not to automate at all. We expect you to be comfortable making and defending all of those calls.
You won't be doing this alone, and we don't expect you to cover this whole scope from day one. You'll work closely with the team lead, who owns discovery and architecture today; you'll start by taking ownership of delivery and grow into the full end-to-end role over time.
You will
- Design, build, and implement automation solutions that work - using no-code, low-code, and scripting
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and integration workflows
- Develop integrations using APIs, structured data flows, and authentication mechanisms
- Extend automations using Python or JavaScript when needed
- Prototype and test AI-enabled workflows before scaling
- Ensure solutions meet IT, security, and governance standards
- Monitor and optimise automations for reliability and performance
- Explore and experiment with cloud-based AI platforms
Your professional skills and background
Must-haves
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills - you can scope a vague request into a concrete plan and explain trade-offs to non-technical colleagues
- Experience analysing end-to-end business processes and turning them into improvement opportunities
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript (preferrably TypeScript)
- Fluency with AI-assisted development and LLM-based workflows - Claude and Claude Code are our primary tools, and this is how our team builds every day
- An outcome-driven, pragmatic mindset: you optimise for the stakeholder's result, not for the most interesting build
- Solid understanding of APIs, structured data, and authentication concepts
- Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with no-code / low-code platforms (Make, n8n, Zapier) - useful for stewarding and migrating existing workflows
- Experience with Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Scheduler), Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in regulated or data-sensitive environments (financial services, GDPR-heavy domains)
- Consulting, business analysis, or process optimization background
- University degree in a relevant field
