The posting

MISSION

Mirum Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the treatment of rare diseases. We are passionate about advancing scientific discoveries to become important medicines for rare disease patients. We are collaborative, creative, and experienced professionals and we’re looking to augment our team with other individuals who embody our values: care, be real, get it done, and have fun, seriously.

POSITION SUMMARY

Mirum Pharmaceuticals is seeking an international biopharmaceutical executive to lead its business outside the United States through the company's next phase of growth. Reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer, the EVP, Head of International will be accountable for international growth, commercial performance, launch execution, geographic expansion, and organizational development.

The role spans direct markets, distributors, licensing partners, market access and new market entry.

This leader will scale Mirum’s established international business through multiple upcoming product launches while building capabilities across Asia Pacific and Latin America. The EVP will create an operating model that empowers country leaders while ensuring alignment across markets.

The role requires a senior commercial leader who can think strategically, build efficiently, and scale an international organization through its next phase of growth. The successful candidate will bring broad international P&L leadership, rare disease or specialty-care commercialization experience, strong market access capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to lead both direct affiliates and partner-led markets without overbuilding infrastructure.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the international business plan, P&L, resource allocation, forecast, operating priorities, and performance-management process for worldwide markets outside the United States.
  • Translate Mirum’s enterprise and portfolio strategy into executable regional plans for Europe and Middle East, Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
  • Provide executive leadership with a clear view of international performance, opportunities, risks, and investment priorities.
  • Serve as the senior international commercial voice in enterprise portfolio, lifecycle, evidence and business-development decisions.
  • Ensure a disciplined execution of global price corridors.
  • Build a high-performing international leadership team and operating model.

Europe, Canada and Middle East

  • Develop existing regional and country leaders while scaling Mirum’s direct and distributor markets into a multi-product business.
  • Ensure launch readiness, market access, pricing and reimbursement, KOL development, commercial execution, and partner performance across the region.

Asia Pacific and Latin America Capability Build

  • Build and lead a strong regional leadership team aligned with Mirum’s values and culture.
  • Establish fit-for-purpose regional strategies, operating models and performance expectations.
  • Develop market-prioritization frameworks that consider patient need, regulatory feasibility, access potential, pricing implications, operational complexity, and commercial return.
  • Recommend the optimal commercial model for priority markets, including partner-led, direct, and licensing approaches.

International Launch Readiness and Portfolio Growth

  • Lead ex-US launch readiness across Mirum’s portfolio, including access, pricing, evidence generation, supply readiness, and launch sequencing.
  • Ensure development and commercialization strategies incorporate international market requirements.
  • Establish repeatable launch-excellence processes that can scale across products and geographies.
  • Assess new business-development opportunities and potential products through an international commercial and access lens.
  • Drive post-launch performance and sharing of best practices across markets.

Partner, Distributor, and Geographic Expansion Management

  • Establish clear performance expectations, decision rights, escalation processes, and KPIs for distributors and license partners.
  • Drive strong partner performance across registration, access, commercialization, and supply.
  • Build productive, accountable partnerships that advance Mirum’s strategic and financial objectives.
  • Develop fact-based direct-versus-partner recommendations for priority markets and present investment cases to executive leadership.

Pricing, Market Access, and International Operations

  • Oversee international pricing architecture and price-corridor execution, including international reference-pricing considerations in launch sequencing and contracting decisions.
  • Align regional access strategies with global evidence priorities, product value narratives, and local reimbursement requirements.
  • Establish disciplined forecasting, analytics, and business-planning processes.
  • Ensure international market needs are reflected in product, lifecycle, and evidence-generation planning.

Enterprise and People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed, multicultural leadership team with clear accountability for business outcomes.
  • Partner effectively with US Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, Compliance, CMC, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, Patient Advocacy and program teams.
  • Influence enterprise decisions through strategic clarity, operational credibility, and strong cross-functional relationships.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
