Overview:

In this senior role you will lead the Local & Direct Sales Procurement Team and report to the global Chief Procurement Officer. You will also have considerable interaction with your peer the Head of Global & Strategic Procurement and a wide base of non-Procurement stakeholders.

This is a high-profile role with direct & significant impact on a complex global business and you will be expected to build strong & deep relationships with large numbers of stakeholders at all levels within & outside Mitel so that you understand what is required for their success and your stakeholders understand the role and value driven by your team - as a result significant complexity, personal responsibility, workload & working hour flexibility should be expected. Some international travel will also be required.

You will be responsible for all Strategic & Operational topics related to Procurement activities in the Countries within which Mitel operates as well as Procurement of 3rd Party Hardware, Software, Services & Solutions that Mitel resells directly to end customers.

You will lead Procurement-related input into BSI/ISO/Other certification audits & ensure compliance with Local & Global ESG/CSR regulations and Public Procurement rules.

You will be required to Lead & Develop your team so that they are also operating on this basis with their stakeholder base, are highly engaged with their role, team & company and perform at a high level.

You are responsible for the performance & results of your team so high quality, informed delegation is essential to success in this very busy role. You will be expected to ensure that your team is ready & able to take on delegated tasks & complete them effectively without your constant involvement.

Very high proficiency in German & English language are critical for success in this cross-cultural role.

Responsibilities:

  • Build & Develop strong, mutually-supportive professional relationships with key stakeholders within & outside Mitel to maximize the positive impact of Procurement on our business
  • Identify & implement the key Procurement strategies required to optimize commercial, operational & social outcomes of Mitel's business
  • Lead, support & further develop your team to deliver high levels of capability, engagement, professionalism, performance & results
  • Build Personal & Team expertise in the Products, Services & Solutions that Mitel offers and the markets within which we purchase & sell
  • Conduct market monitoring and analyze supplier and pricing developments
  • Ensure efficient operational performance & workload distribution and promote a collaborative culture within your team, Procurement & the wider Mitel organisation
  • Ensure compliance with procurement processes, policies and governance standards - both Mitel-specific & external - and drive adoption of appropriate ESG/CSR/Social Value arrangements within our Procurement activities; Promote process optimization where possible
  • Lead Procurement involvement in BSI/ISO/Other internal & external audit processes
  • Lead/Guide your team in managing & executing high-value procurement activities across the full purchasing lifecycle including leadership of RFX's, Tender processes etc
  • Lead/Guide your team in negotiating commercial aspects of contracts with suppliers and service providers; Work with Legal & Functional teams on the wider contractual & operational arrangements
  • Lead/Guide your team in building, managing & further developing supplier relationships and performance
  • Lead/Guide your team in supporting internal stakeholders in defining business requirements and specifications
  • Lead/Guide your team in Identifying and implementing cost-saving and value-creation initiatives
  • Manage escalation topics and support operational continuity

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in Procurement within a technology or service-oriented environment - significant direct experience in supplier management, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions
  • Demonstrable Management or Leadership experience & success within a complex matrix organisation
  • Demonstrable strong communication and stakeholder management skills & experience - confident and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Evidence of delivery of significant commercial & operational results both personally and as part of a collaborative team
  • Fluency in English & German is essential
