The opportunity: Known internally as Support Service Attendant, we have 1 new opportunity for a Temporary (1 Year Contract) Full-Time Personal Support Worker in Richmond Hill.
Flexible schedule: Evenings (3pm-11pm) and Mornings (7am - 12pm) and every other weekend Starting wage: $23.11 per hour. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave. Hours: 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Assist service users/clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
Personal care Lifts and Transfers Rising/retiring Bowel and bladder procedures Meal preparation and feeding Range of motion exercises Other light housekeeping duties
Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.
Qualifications and experience:
Reliable transportation required High School graduate or equivalent Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant careduties Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
