About the Role

YM Careers is seeking a motivated, ambitious, and relationship-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to develop consultative sales skills, build expertise in SaaS and association technology, and play a key role in expanding YM Careers' career center platform within the association market.

As a BDR, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging association executives, membership leaders, revenue strategists, and career center stakeholders who are looking to enhance member value, generate non-dues revenue, and better serve their professional communities. You will introduce prospective association partners to YM Careers' career center platform, uncover organizational goals and challenges, and create qualified opportunities for our Account Executive team.

This role is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys building relationships, is energized by prospecting and outreach, and wants a clear path for career growth in SaaS sales, business development, and the association technology industry. YM Careers provides comprehensive training, structured onboarding, ongoing coaching, and mentorship from experienced sales leaders.

A Day in the Life

  • Research and identify prospective association partners, including professional societies, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Prospect new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn networking, referrals, and other outbound sales activities.
  • Engage association executives and decision-makers in consultative conversations to understand their membership, revenue, workforce development, and engagement goals.
  • Educate prospective clients on how a branded career center can increase member value, support industry workforce initiatives, and create sustainable non-dues revenue streams.
  • Qualify opportunities and schedule introductory meetings and product demonstrations for the Account Executive team.
  • Utilize tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and other prospecting platforms to build and manage pipeline activity.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership and teammates to refine messaging, outreach strategies, and prospecting best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, activities, and opportunities within Salesforce.
  • Develop expertise in association management, member engagement strategies, digital revenue generation, and career center best practices.
  • Partner with Marketing to support webinars, thought leadership initiatives, and lead-generation campaigns designed to engage association leaders.
  • Attend association, membership, and career center industry conferences and trade shows to network with prospective clients, increase brand awareness, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends impacting associations, workforce development, recruitment marketing, and member engagement.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently generating qualified sales opportunities and meetings for the Account Executive team.
  • Building and maintaining a healthy pipeline of association prospects.
  • Developing confidence in outbound prospecting, discovery conversations, and value-based SaaS selling.
  • Becoming a trusted resource for association leaders exploring new ways to deliver member value and generate revenue.
  • Contributing to the continued growth of YM Careers' career center platform and partner network.
  • Achieving individual activity, pipeline, and opportunity-generation goals while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer focus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
