The posting
Make a real difference for Australian and New Zealand charities, every shift.
About us Mondial Telephone Fundraising is a North Sydney contact centre agency that partners with well-known Australian and New Zealand charities. We make outbound fundraising calls to donors of the charities we work alongside, thanking them for their support and inviting them to help even more.
About the role In this outbound contact centre role, you’ll call supporters who already care about a cause. Your day will include:
- Making outbound calls to charity supporters across a range of campaigns
- Thanking supporters and sharing the impact of their giving
- Inviting supporters to increase their regular donation, start donating again if they’ve stopped, or begin donating on a regular basis
- Handling questions and objections with care, respect and honesty
- Accurately recording call outcomes and supporter details in our calling system
- Following each charity’s guidelines and fundraising compliance standards
- Working with your Team Leader to build your skills through ongoing coaching and feedback
Requirements
Essentials
- Australian working rights
- A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent)
- Availability for at least 25 hours a week, including two weekday evenings until 8pm and every second Saturday (10am to 5pm)
- Able to work on site at our North Sydney office, just a short walk from the station
The qualities we look for
- You enjoy talking with people and can communicate clearly and warmly over the phone
- You're comfortable using a computer and take care to get the details right
- You're keen to learn, open to feedback and want to grow your skills
- You care about making a difference for people and causes
No fundraising or contact centre experience? No problem. Our three days of paid training and ongoing coaching will give you everything you need to succeed.
What changed from a human resources perspective: the requirements are now split into genuine essentials (the things you'll actually screen on) and qualities, so candidates aren't put off by traits that are developed in training. I added "or equivalent" to the High School Certificate, as this recognises interstate and overseas qualifications and reduces the risk of indirectly excluding people. The qualities are written as behaviors rather than personality traits like "confidence", which keeps them fair and job-related. The closing line encourages people without experience to apply, which suits your goal of widening the pool.
