Position Summary
The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for growing the company's commercial business through the acquisition of new accounts and the expansion of existing customer relationships. This position focuses on developing partnerships with local businesses, fleet operators, government agencies, contractors, and other commercial customers that require tires, automotive service, maintenance, and repair solutions.
The Commercial Sales Representative serves as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their operational needs and delivering solutions that improve vehicle uptime, reduce operating costs, and support business growth. Success in this role is driven by achieving sales goals, retaining and growing existing accounts, and consistently developing new business opportunities within the assigned market.
Responsibilities
Account Growth and Retention
- Develop strong relationships with existing commercial customers.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify opportunities for growth and increased market share.
- Expand customer purchases through the promotion of tires, preventive maintenance programs, and automotive repair services.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service follow-up.
- Address customer concerns and coordinate timely resolution with store operations teams.
Sales Planning and Execution
- Achieve established sales, gross profit, and account acquisition goals.
- Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor customer activity, market trends, and competitive developments.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity documentation.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and business updates to leadership
Operational Partnership
- Partner closely with Store Managers and service teams to ensure commercial customers receive outstanding service.
- Coordinate service needs and scheduling requirements for fleet and commercial accounts.
- Communicate customer expectations, opportunities, and feedback to operational leadership.
- Support initiatives that improve the commercial customer experience and drive long-term loyalty.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of business-to-business sales, outside sales, or account management experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing new business and growing existing customer relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout assigned territory.
Preferred
- Experience in the automotive, tire, fleet maintenance, distribution, or service industry.
- Knowledge of commercial tire programs, fleet operations, and preventive maintenance services.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business,
Physical Requirements
- Frequent driving and travel within assigned territory.
- Ability to visit customer locations, fleet facilities, warehouses, and job sites.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to work flexible hours as business needs require.
