The posting

Overview

The Firm

Montagu Evans LLP is a UK property consultancy that helps clients unlock value from complexity, because that’s where the most meaningful opportunities live.

Our purpose is to bring clarity, creativity, and conviction to the complex. We are experts who collaborate to create value, not just preserve it and our team is built for impact, not oversight.

We specialise in high-value, complex assets across the property lifecycle, where political, technical or commercial challenges demand a joined-up approach.

Role Overview

The role is primarily land agency focussed, however it interfaces strong with our Development Advisory and Capital Markets service lines, bringing solutions to landowners to their development challenges through a transaction.

This individual will assist the team, including Senior Surveyors, Associates and Partners, in advising public and private clients on how to achieve their aims, whilst at the same time ensuring that their strategy moves forward in both a realistic and responsible manner. They will be involved in often high-profile, major mixed-use development projects from conception through to adding value (e.g. through planning) and of course transactions.

The Team

The role is to focus on Land Agency as part of a broader team of experts into the Development sphere. The role will be largely agency focussed; however the ethos of the team and department is collaborating to bring opportunities of greater complexity into fruition, utilising not only department skills but also the skills of the 110 strong Planning department. The offering is drawn together under our Residential Conviction banner.

This role specifically fits within the Development & Strategic Advisory (DSA) team. The 50-strong team provides a range of services including:

  • Land Agency
  • Residential Capital Markets
  • Town centre development and repositioning
  • Regeneration-based development & delivery advice
  • Development consultancy and agency
  • Residential capital markets consultancy & agency
  • Site assembly & CPO
  • Strategic economic & case making advice
  • Programme & project management

These services are provided to a broad mix of public and private sector clients.

Our team vision is to become "the market leading Development Advisory and Agency team helping our public and private clients unlock value from complex development projects”.

Whilst the team has a national geography, it is largely based in London and the majority of our project work is currently located in London and the South East. Notwithstanding this, we have an appetite to grow further in the Midlands and North.

Recent high profile transactions include:

  • Victoria Trading Estate, Acton – disposal on behalf of SEGRO to Imperial College of a 10 acre allocated site for £115 million
  • Buildbase, Peckham – exchange on a subject to planning basis on behalf of Grafton Group to Arada for a 515 unit PBSA scheme
  • Crystal Palace Park – disposal on behalf of LBB of a 210 unit Outline permission for £21.8 million to Clarion
  • Chobham Road, Woking – subject to planning disposal on behalf of a private individual for in excess of £10 million for Co-Living
  • Fife Road, Kingston – Forward Funding disposal on behalf of Viewranks to DFI for a 200 bed Co-Living development
  • Homebase, Romford – exchange on behalf of Barratt London for a 500 unit C3 development on a subject to planning basis

  • Developing credentials to source new business opportunities
  • Collaborating with a range of teams across the firm and taking an active role in our market facing Residential Conviction;

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
