About the Role

We are looking for a highly independent, commercially minded Senior Financial Editor to lead the planning, execution and continuous improvement of high-quality financial content.

We are looking for a strong understanding of financial markets with sharp editorial judgement, user insight and data-driven thinking. You will take ownership of columns, special projects and breaking-market coverage, while working closely with AI, product and operations teams to improve content quality, production efficiency and user experience.

This is an opportunity for an experienced financial-content professional in Hong Kong who enjoys making decisions, building scalable editorial systems and shaping the future of AI-enabled financial media.

What You’ll Do

1. Independent editorial decision-making

  • Assess market developments and identify stories and themes that matter to our users.
  • Determine content angles, priorities, publishing timing and distribution channels within your remit.
  • Take ownership of the accuracy, timeliness and user value of published content.

2. Plan and deliver content initiatives

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of regular editorial franchises, thematic features, major market-event coverage and special projects.
  • Define target audiences, content formats, production standards and publishing cadence.
  • Manage the full workflow from proposal and production to launch, performance review and iteration.

3. Produce high-quality financial content

  • Write, edit and review financial content across relevant formats.
  • Turn complex market developments into clear, accurate and accessible content for users.
  • Establish, maintain and continuously improve editorial guidelines and quality standards.

4. Build AI-enabled content workflows

  • Partner with AI teams to develop, maintain and refine AIGC content-production rules, templates and quality-assurance standards.
  • Support the launch of new content formats and improve editorial production workflows.
  • Evaluate AI-generated output for factual accuracy, logical consistency, clarity and practical production gains.

5. Optimise through data and user insights

  • Analyse content reach, quality engagement, interactions and subsequent user behaviour.
  • Identify gaps in content supply and distribution, recommend actionable improvements, and validate their impact through data.
  • Use performance insights to improve editorial planning, content formats and distribution strategies.

6. Collaborate with product and operations teams

  • Translate editorial and operational needs into product requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to enhance content hubs, operational tools and product features.
  • Document and scale repeatable editorial methods, workflows and best practices.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Finance, Economics, Journalism, Communications or related disciplines are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial content, financial journalism, editorial roles or financial-content operations.
  • Proven experience independently leading a content vertical, editorial series, special project or major content initiative.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and major financial products, with sound news judgement and confident editorial decision-making.
  • Excellent content-planning, writing and editing skills, with the ability to verify information, make trade-offs and prioritise effectively under tight deadlines and incomplete information.
  • Professional fluency in English and Mandarin: edit English content and collaborate across markets.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for content work; able to translate editorial needs into production rules and workflows, and identify factual, logical and expression issues in generated content.
  • Strong data-analysis capabilities, with the ability to turn content and user-behaviour data into practical optimisation initiatives and measure results.
  • High sense of ownership, strong project-management skills and excellent cross-functional communication abilities. You are proactive in identifying problems, proposing solutions and driving execution.

Nice to Have

  • Personal trading experience or independent KOL/content-creation experience in US equities, options or other financial products.
  • A track record of building a content franchise from scratch, implementing AI-enabled content production, or delivering operations automation projects.
  • Professional financial qualifications such as CFA, FRM or equivalent.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
