The posting

Investor Relations Associate (Private Market Sales)

Join the team rewriting the rules in private markets.

Moonfare delivers what few others can: the highly sought-after funds and hidden-gem investments that go beyond what most private banks offer. Every opportunity is subjected to a ruthless vetting process; the bar is unforgivingly high. The result? Institutional-quality portfolios for investors who demand more.

Our team combines finance veterans with talent from tech, consulting, law and industries you’d never expect. Headquartered in Berlin, we operate from eight offices across Europe, the US and Asia.

If you're ready to build what's next in private markets, let's talk.

About the role

Moonfare is experiencing exceptional growth in the North American market. This is a salaried position with a performance bonus, not commission-only, and no existing book is required. You'll work off an existing book and a pipeline of qualified leads, and help build Moonfare's U.S. client base from an early stage. You'll join a small, fast-growing U.S. desk in New York, reporting directly to the Head of U.S. Private Clients.

You will:

  • Convert qualified leads into active investors by understanding their needs, articulating Moonfare's value proposition, and guiding them through the investment journey.
  • Own and grow a book of U.S. high-net-worth individuals and family offices, with a focus on long-term, high-quality relationships.
  • Generate new opportunities through planned outreach campaigns, your own network, and referrals.
  • Take a hands-on approach to portfolio oversight and performance discussions, offering data-driven insights tailored to investor goals, and prepare the presentations, portfolio summaries, and communications that deepen trust and reinforce Moonfare's value proposition.
  • Confidently manage complex client questions, concerns, and objections - always aiming to deliver clarity and value.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Product, Marketing, Compliance, and Investments to ensure a seamless and coordinated investor experience, and bring a critical eye to internal processes to enhance efficiency and the client experience.

The next Moonfarian:

  • You have a minimum of 2 years in a client-facing role, ideally in financial services, private banking, private equity, or wealth management.
  • You hold active FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses (65/66 a plus).
  • You are target-driven, and motivated by building something rather than inheriting it.
  • You have a confident, professional communication style and the ability to engage sophisticated investors.
  • You apply a structured and organized approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
  • You are a team player with a global mindset and enjoy working across cultures and time zones.

If you feel you do not meet all of the requirements, we still encourage you to apply!

Our Commitment to a Rigorous & Fair Assessment

We believe in a transparent and comprehensive evaluation process designed to understand your unique skills and potential. Our approach is a two-way street: it allows us to see if you are the right fit for Moonfare, and just as importantly, it allows you to determine if we are the right fit for you.

Our process consists of the following stages:

Screening

  • Talent Acquisition Interview (Virtual): An initial conversation to discuss your experience and motivations, and for you to learn more about the role, the team, and our mission.
  • Aptitude Assessment: A short, standardized assessment to understand your verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning abilities, giving us insight into your problem-solving capabilities.

Hiring Manager Interview

  • Hiring Manager Interview (On-site): A conversation with the Head of U.S. Private Clients about your client experience, how you build and grow investor relationships, and what you would bring to a growing U.S. desk.

Team Interviews

  • Case Study Interview: This is your opportunity to showcase your skills. You will be presented with a real-world challenge relevant to the role, allowing us to see your thought process, skills, and approach in action. You’ll get to see our beautiful office space and meet more of the team.

Final Interview

  • Leadership Interview: A final conversation focused on our leadership principles, ensuring you will thrive in our high-performance culture.

The salary range for this role is $90000–$100000. Moonfare is committed to equitable compensation. Our model is built around a base salary and a performance-related bonus component, alongside the benefits above, and we set our ranges from independent market data that we review every year - so they reflect the genuine market rate for the work. Where you join within the range reflects the experience you bring relative to the role, with real room to grow: we’re performance-first, so your impact is what moves your pay. As a commercial role, it also carries a performance-related commercial bonus measured against on-target earnings, in addition to base salary. We never ask about your current or previous salary at any stage of the process. For more information about Moonfare’s compensation, please speak to your Talent Acquisition Partner.

Our Values:

  • Our clients come first, Moonfare comes second, and we prioritise ourselves third - Client-Centric Focus. Putting clients first means creating value for them is essential. Placing Moonfare second signifies that our individual professional future at Moonfare depends on the company's commercial success. Prioritising ourselves third reflects our humility in putting clients and Moonfare before personal interests.
  • We pursue excellence and honor our promises - Commitment to Excellence. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, taking responsibility for our failures, and celebrating our successes. We commit to deadlines and stick to them and we learn from our mistakes.
  • We are here to win and to celebrate our collective achievements - Win together. We are mission-focused and think and act like owners. We exemplify the attitude we expect and each of us commits to do what it takes to succeed.
  • We foster personal growth but each of us earns our place as a Moonfarian through merit - Growth and Merit. We hire, retain, and develop exceptional people and invest in empowering them to excel. We must all earn our place at the table every day.

We understand the important role that diversity plays in our success. Different backgrounds, experiences and ideas push us further and raise the bar. We’re committed to developing an inclusive and safe culture where everyone - regardless of colour, race, religion, sex, origin, sexuality, disability, marital status, citizenship or gender identity - knows that they are an integral part of the team and can bring their full potential to their work.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
