Software Engineer | AI Agent Platform

Location: San Francisco, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Work Arrangement: In-Person / On-Site Base Salary: 200K-280K + Competitive Equity Visa: Sponsorship and transfers available

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a fast-growing, early-stage AI company building a next-generation workspace centered around large-scale AI agent orchestration.

The platform enables users to run sophisticated AI workflows at significant scale, including thousands of concurrent agents and millions of tokens per minute, while making the experience accessible through an intuitive, customer-facing product.

The engineering team is small, highly technical, and hands-on. Engineers have significant individual ownership and the opportunity to influence both the product and the underlying systems as the company scales.

What You'll Do

As a Software Engineer, you'll work across the full stack to design, build, and ship polished customer-facing products and the systems behind them.

Your work may include:

  • Building customer-facing product experiences using React and TypeScript
  • Developing APIs and backend services supporting those experiences
  • Building UI experiences for AI agent research traces
  • Debugging connectivity between client and server states to improve consistency
  • Defining models and standards for API contracts
  • Helping codify team-wide engineering processes and reusable tooling
  • Triaging production issues and performing root-cause analysis
  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining high-traffic production systems

The team values engineers who remain deeply hands-on and want to build, rather than move toward a traditional management path.

What They're Looking For

  • Approximately 2–5 years of software engineering experience
  • Strong full-stack product engineering experience
  • React/frontend experience is required
  • Experience building and shipping polished, customer-facing web products in production
  • Strong React and TypeScript experience, along with experience building the APIs and services behind the product
  • Experience as a primary individual contributor on meaningful projects
  • Experience designing and deploying high-traffic products
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate with significant ownership
  • A track record demonstrating ambition, adaptability, and continued growth

The team cares more about demonstrated engineering ability and what you've shipped than titles or traditional career progression.

Tech Stack

Core Technologies: React, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, Redis, PubSub, RPC, S3, Temporal

Experience with Go in production is a plus, but not required.

Additional experience with TanStack (Query/Router), WebSockets, or Zustand is also helpful.

What Can Set You Apart

The team is particularly interested in engineers who have:

  • Shipped high-traffic customer-facing products at strong technology companies
  • Worked across both frontend product surfaces and the backend systems supporting them
  • Experience in both larger-scale engineering environments and fast-growing startup environments
  • Production experience with Go
  • Distributed systems experience
  • Competitive programming or ICPC experience
  • A career trajectory demonstrating a willingness to pursue challenging opportunities and continued growth

Trajectory and shipped work matter more than school pedigree.

Work Environment

The company is based in San Francisco and places a high value on synchronous, in-person collaboration. Candidates should be able to work with the team in person as needed without their absence becoming a blocker.

The environment is fast-moving and high-ownership, with engineers expected to contribute directly rather than operate through layers of management.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $200,000-280,000 Equity: Competitive equity Visa Sponsorship: Available, including visa transfers and O-1 sponsorship for qualified candidates

Client Interview Process

After candidates are submitted to the client:

Initial Screen

Algorithm Interview

System Design | 60 minutes Focused on how you would approach and continue building a project, including designing and deploying distributed services and practical problem-solving.

On-Site Interview | San Francisco In-person conversation focused on how you would continue contributing to projects as a hands-on individual contributor.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
