Job Purpose:

The Sous Chef (Chef de partie) plays a critical role in supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. This position involves supervising kitchen staff, contributing to menu development, maintaining hygiene standards, and managing food inventory. The Sous Chef upholds the companys culinary standards and fosters a positive, efficient, and creative kitchen environment. Through strong leadership and culinary expertise, the role contributes to delivering memorable dining experiences that reflect the company's commitment to excellence.

Key duties :

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations and overseeing the preparation and cooking of all food items.
  • Plan and develop creative and innovative menus in collaboration with the Head Chef.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served according to company standards and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute special events and catering services.
  • Assist in creating and implementing new recipes and dishes.
  • Adhere to budget guidelines and control food and labor costs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
  • Maintain high quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de partie in a fast-paced and high volume kitchen.
  • Experience in the mediterranean cuisine would be a big plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures in mediterranean cuisine.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Creative and passionate about food and cooking.
