Shape the Future of Insurance Across Africa

At Mukuru, we're building financial services that make a real difference in people's lives. As we continue expanding our Wallet and Value-Added Services offering, we're looking for a commercially minded Market Developer: Insurance to help us grow our insurance business across key markets.

What You'll Be Doing

Drive Business Growth

  • Champion the growth of Mukuru's Insurance offering across assigned markets.
  • Increase customer acquisition, retention, and product adoption.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to execute market growth strategies.
  • Enhance customer awareness by ensuring teams effectively communicate product benefits and features.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and optimize distribution channels.

Develop New Opportunities

  • Research and identify new insurance and value-added service opportunities.
  • Build business cases that support sustainable growth.
  • Engage with potential partners and stakeholders to establish strategic relationships.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and support partnership development.

Lead Projects and Execution

  • Coordinate cross-functional projects to ensure successful implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and drive accountability.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product, Customer Service, and other teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Understand the Market

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive activity.
  • Analyse customer needs and market dynamics to support informed decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and growth.

Support Commercial Performance

  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Assist with pricing reviews and commercial evaluations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners and key stakeholders.

Experience

  • Experience in Business Development, Market Development, Sales, Partnerships, or a related field.
  • Exposure to Financial Services, Insurance, FinTech, Banking, or Payments is advantageous.
  • Experience managing projects and working across multiple stakeholders is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
