The role will build a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, recapture lapsed customers and volume, develop new market segments, and improve utilisation of MCC Perth’s production capacity. While the role will establish trusted customer relationships and ensure a successful transition into MCC, its core priority is sustained new business development rather than day-to-day management of an established account portfolio. Duties include New Business Development

Identify, pursue and secure profitable new business opportunities across Western Australia to achieve and exceed sales, revenue and margin targets. Develop and execute a disciplined territory and new business plan, with clear target markets, priority prospects, activity measures and conversion goals. Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified, high-value and high-margin opportunities through consistent lead generation and prospecting activity. Proactively generate leads through outbound sales activity, networking, referrals, industry events, market research and strategic partnerships. Recapture lapsed customers and lost volume where commercially and operationally appropriate. Identify new customer segments and applications that align with MCC Perth’s capabilities, capacity and growth priorities. Conduct customer meetings, site visits, presentations and discovery sessions to understand operational, packaging and commercial requirements. Develop value-based solutions and compelling proposals, quotations and tender responses that clearly position MCC’s capability and customer value proposition. Lead commercial negotiations, address barriers to conversion and close new business opportunities on profitable and sustainable terms. Maintain momentum across the sales cycle through structured follow-up, stakeholder mapping and clear next actions. Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across target organisations. Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within newly acquired customers once the initial business has been secured. Monitor competitor activity, market conditions and emerging industry trends to identify and act on new growth opportunities. Act as a visible brand ambassador for MCC within the Western Australian market.

Commercial Performance and Pipeline Management

Achieve or exceed agreed new business revenue, margin, profitability and activity targets within approved expense budgets. Qualify opportunities rigorously to ensure alignment with MCC’s strategic objectives, operational capability, capacity and profitability expectations. Apply strong commercial judgement to pricing, deal structure, volume commitments, credit considerations and profitability analysis. Maintain accurate and current prospect, pipeline, forecast and customer information in Salesforce or other nominated CRM and reporting systems. Regularly review performance against targets with the General Manager - Perth and implement actions to strengthen pipeline coverage and conversion. Gather and share market intelligence, customer insights and competitor movements to inform local and broader commercial strategy.

Safety, Quality, Environment and Compliance

Comply with all MCC safety, quality, environmental, ethical and legislative requirements and promote safe working behaviours. Ensure customer commitments and production information are accurate, timely and aligned with agreed standards and MCC processes. Operate the company vehicle safely and responsibly in accordance with road laws, company requirements and maintenance expectations. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, support continuous improvement and minimise environmental impact. Carry out other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the business.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
