This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment — including conveyors, automated canning machinery, and PLC-controlled systems — to ensure maximum uptime, product quality, and food safety compliance.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on technician who is comfortable working independently overnight and enjoys solving complex electromechanical and controls issues in a live production environment.

- 2-2-3 rotating schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on — alternating)

- Must be available for occasional overtime or schedule flexibility to support production needs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors and automated canning lines

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and controls issues to minimize downtime

- Diagnose and resolve issues with photo eye and camera sensor systems integrated through Allen Bradley PLC programs

- Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot Servo drives and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)

- Read and interpret PLC logic (Allen Bradley) to identify faults and support troubleshooting; make minor program adjustments as needed

- Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to support repairs and installations

- Perform routine inspections and document maintenance activities in a CMMS or equivalent tracking system

- Maintain compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times

- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during production to reduce downtime and product loss

- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant safety policies

- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and changeovers as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food/beverage manufacturing or another GMP-regulated environment

- Hands-on experience with conveyors and automated packaging/canning equipment

- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC systems (troubleshooting required; programming experience a plus)

- Experience with photo eye and camera-based sensor systems

- Experience troubleshooting Servo drives and VFDs

- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings

- Ability to work independently overnight with minimal supervision

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under time pressure during downtime events

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods

- Ability to work in a food production environment (varying temperatures, wet/dry conditions, noise levels)

- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as needed, with proper safety equipment

- Shift differential for 3rd shift (if applicable)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
