Job Description
Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care to patients of all ages through the use of the nursing process and through promotion, maintenance and teaching. Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Director) Notifies the Director of any problems in the unit. Takes charge of unit as needed (with appropriate competency). May be assigned on call to provide appropriate staff coverage. Floats to other nursing units assigned. Is responsible for getting to work for scheduled shifts in the event of inclement weather. Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to House Supervisor). Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift. Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources
Additional Job Description
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
License and Certifications:
- Current South Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
