What is your new project?

Domain: Media and Entertainment

Client Location: Israel

Company size: 11-50 employees

Founded in: 2025

What makes this project exciting?

Our new client is something really innovative! This Israel-based startup is building a mobile-first app for micro dramas - a short, scripted series made for smartphones. Think of it as TikTok with short episodes lasting 1 to 1.5 minutes.

The project already has strong support from an investor who believes in its massive potential. As it is still in the early development stage, this job is your chance to be part of a unique entertainment product. Are you ready to work on something fresh and impactful? Check out the opportunity below!

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our founding core team and help us build the future of streaming. As first QA hire, you will own quality across our Android, iOS and web clients from day one - defining how we test, choosing the tools, and building the automation framework from the ground up. You will work closely with our multi-platform engineering team, which leverages Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), to make sure every release delivers a flawless, cinematic experience to our users.

What makes you a great fit

  • At least 4 years of experience in QA, with 3+ years of hands-on test automation.
  • Must: proven experience testing and automating native mobile apps (Android & iOS) in production at scale, using Appium and/or native frameworks (Espresso, XCUITest).
  • Experience with web automation (Playwright preferred) and API testing (e.g., Postman).
  • Experience running automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Strong coding skills in at least one language - Kotlin, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python or Swift.
  • AI-first mindset: you use AI tools (such as Claude, Cursor or Copilot) every day to write, maintain and scale tests faster, and you're curious about new AI-driven ways to test.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test design and the full software development life cycle.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments, preferably in consumer-facing mobile apps, gaming or entertainment.
  • A self-starter who works independently and effectively in a remote setup, and builds processes where none exist.
  • Must: excellent written and verbal English - you'll collaborate with a distributed team and write clear test plans, bug reports and documentation.
  • A strong product sense and a keen eye for user experience.

Huge Advantages

  • Experience as the first or only QA engineer in a startup.
  • Direct experience with streaming platforms or video technologies, including testing video playback (HLS).
  • Experience testing in-app purchases and subscriptions (Google Play Billing, StoreKit).
  • Experience with Maestro for mobile UI testing.
  • Experience with cloud device farms such as BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab.

Your day-to-day in this position

  • Build QA from Scratch: Define QA strategy, processes, test plans and release criteria for mobile and web.
  • Automation Framework: Design, build and maintain scalable automated test suites (UI, API and integration) for Android, iOS and web.
  • CI/CD Integration: Embed automated tests into our build pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback on every change.
  • Hands-on Testing: Perform exploratory, regression and release testing on real devices, covering video playback, in-app purchases and A/B test variants.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Product and Design to bake quality into the development process from the first spec.
  • Quality Insights: Track and report quality metrics, flaky tests and crash trends, and drive continuous improvement.

Why work with us?

  • People-first management with minimal bureaucracy
  • A friendly company culture, proven by employees who choose to return
  • Flexible working hours
  • 29 days of PTO (18 working days per year pluse all national holidays)
  • 10 paid recovery days
  • Full financial and legal support for independent contractors
  • Free English classes, with native speakers or Ukrainian teachers
  • Dedicated HR support

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
