About the Position🛰️

As a Systems Engineer for Propulsion Systems at Arkadia, you will play a key role in defining and maturing propulsion products and technologies from concept to qualification and flight.

You will be responsible for defining and maintaining the cross-product and cross-project tools and technologies that will enable the design engineers to build propulsion systems for commercial contracts. Occasionally you will support the product and project development directly, in design, analysis, test campaigns and/or project milestone reviews.

This is a high-impact role where your decisions influence real hardware, real campaigns and real missions, across the entire product range.

You will work in close coordination with various product experts and project engineers, as well as customers and suppliers to ensure technical and programmatic coherence.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and maintain the design rules for all propulsion systems.
  • Define and maintain the high-level requirements system, including cross-project applicability and flow-down to products.
  • Ensure compliance with high-level authorities such as launch and range safety.
  • Manage high-level technical budgets definition and methods (mass, power, performance, margins, etc).
  • Coordinate product assurance tasks and documentation.
  • Create operations manuals and system-level documentation such as FMEA or RAMS.
  • Define interfaces across internal products for system-level compatibility.
  • Coordinate and own system design tasks to comply with commercial contracts.
  • Support manufacturing, integration and test campaigns.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to customer technical discussions and design reviews.

What you'll need

  • MSc. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering for space systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of design rules, sizing, budgets and margins.
  • Knowledge of product management and development cycles.
  • Knowledge of launch manuals and/or range safety.
  • Familiarity with documentation and review processes.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary development environments.
  • Comfortable taking ownership in fast-paced, iterative teams.
  • Experience with requirements management.
  • Advanced English (spoken and written).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ECSS standards, NASA GEVS or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with SpaceX and Ariane launch manuals.
  • Experience with product testing.
  • Hands-on experience in system design.
  • Knowledge of US Range Safety requirements.
  • Spanish is a plus.

What we Offer

Because here you will:

  • Work alongside a passionate and highly skilled space team
  • Have real technical ownership and visibility across disciplines
  • Stay close to hardware and test campaigns
  • Enjoy flexibility and a collaborative atmosphere
  • Receive onboarding and accommodation support if relocating
  • Benefit from the facilities and ecosystem of the university campus where we are based

If this resonates with you, we would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
