The posting

An established international ship management company is seeking a Vessel Accountant to join its Singapore finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role covers full sets of vessel accounts, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, intercompany transfers and reconciliations.

This is an opportunity to develop a career in the maritime industry. Candidates from any industry with a Degree in Accounting and relevant full-set accounting experience are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vessel accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Handle accounts payable, receivable, payments and collections.
  • Process crew payroll/portage bill accounting.
  • Raise funding requests and monitor receipts.
  • Coordinate intercompany transfers and reconcile balances.
  • Respond to shipowners’ accounting queries and coordinate timely reporting.
  • Support year-end and SOX audits, and other finance duties.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Accountancy.
  • At least two years of accounting experience, including independently handling full sets of accounts.
  • Strong accounting knowledge, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Candidates from all industries are welcome; prior shipping or vessel accounting experience is not required.
