Established in the 1980s, Hua Kun Food Industry is a leading Singapore-based importer, wholesaler, and distributor of halal beef, mutton, lamb, and chicken. We supply a wide range of chilled and frozen meat products to supermarkets, wet markets, butcheries, retailers, eateries, and the hospitality sector, and are a trusted name in the local food industry.

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Accounts Executive to support our day-to-day accounting and finance operations. The role involves accounting data entry, processing transactions, maintaining proper records, and assisting with general accounts and administrative duties.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC)and/or Xero will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily accounting data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Enter and process invoices, bills, receipts, payments and other accounting transactions.
  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
  • Process supplier invoices and match invoices against Purchase Orders (PO) and supporting documents.
  • Prepare customer invoices, credit notes and other sales-related accounting documents.
  • Record incoming customer payments and outgoing supplier payments.
  • Assist with bank reconciliation and checking of daily transactions.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other accounting records.
  • Follow up on outstanding customer payments and assist with preparation of AR ageing reports.
  • Assist with supplier statement reconciliation and resolve discrepancies where necessary.
  • Support month-end closing and preparation of basic accounting schedules and reports.
  • Perform accounting entries and maintain records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Xero.
  • Assist with GST-related documentation and preparation where required.
  • Liaise with internal departments, customers and suppliers regarding invoices, payments and account-related matters.
  • Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Finance/Accounts team.
  • Perform other ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Familiar with basic accounting principles and AP/AR processes.
  • Good data-entry skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) and/or Xero is preferred.
  • Able to work independently while also supporting the wider team.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Responsible, meticulous and willing to learn.
