Accounts Specialist (AP – Accounts Payable)

An established organisation is seeking an Accounts Payable professional to support daily payment operations, invoice processing and stakeholder coordination. The role also offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and basic automation initiatives within finance operations.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Handle day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing and preparation of payment runs.

- Validate payment requests and coordinate with local teams, including Treasury and Settlements, to ensure accurate and timely processing.

- Resolve payment-related queries and liaise with business units, banks and other external parties.

- Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive AP tasks through basic automation tools such as Excel Macros/VBA, Power Query or Python.

- Provide backup support to other AP team members to ensure continuity of daily operations.

- Assist with government surveys, reporting submissions and other ad-hoc accounting or process improvement projects.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

- A Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.

- Relevant Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a large organisation or high-volume environment.

- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems, alongside strong Excel skills.

- Basic knowledge of Python or exposure to Excel Macros/VBA, Power Query or similar tools would be advantageous.

- An interest in process improvement and the ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

- Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
