Role Overview

We are seeking an Application Support Engineer with hands-on experience in Java full-stack technologies to provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise applications.

The role involves troubleshooting production incidents, analysing application logs, identifying root causes, implementing fixes, and supporting deployments and releases. The successful candidate should have practical experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, REST APIs, SQL, and AWS environments.

This role is suitable for an engineer who combines strong application support capabilities with hands-on development and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 production and application support for Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Monitor application health, availability, performance, and production processes.
  • Investigate and resolve application incidents, production issues, and service disruptions.
  • Analyse application logs, error messages, system behaviour, and database information to identify root causes.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical production incidents.
  • Troubleshoot and support applications developed using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Support and troubleshoot REST APIs, application interfaces, and system integrations.
  • Troubleshoot Angular-based front-end applications and implement minor fixes or enhancements where required.
  • Use SQL to investigate data issues, validate application data, and support incident resolution.
  • Monitor and support applications deployed within AWS environments.
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure, database, DevOps, and other technical teams to resolve production issues.
  • Coordinate with development teams on application defects, bug fixes, and functional enhancements.
  • Support application deployments, releases, patches, and production changes.
  • Perform post-deployment validation, application health checks, and production verification.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to application stability, performance, and support processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Application Support, Production Support, Java Development, or Full Stack Java application support.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications using Spring Boot.
  • Good understanding of Microservices architecture.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting REST APIs and application integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Angular or similar modern front-end technologies.
  • Good SQL skills for querying, troubleshooting, and analysing application data.
  • Experience supporting applications hosted on AWS.
  • Understanding of application monitoring, production troubleshooting, and incident management.
  • Experience analysing application logs and performing Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience using Git for source code and version control.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and application deployment processes.
  • Understanding of software development and application support lifecycles.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with development and infrastructure teams during production incidents.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with containerised or Microservices-based applications.
  • Familiarity with AWS monitoring and logging services.
  • Understanding of DevOps and automated deployment practices.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and log analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
  • Experience working in Agile development and support environments.
