DXC Technology is looking for a Junior Java Application Support Engineer Trainee to join our team under the Graduate Industry Traineeship (GRIT) Programme. This opportunity is designed for fresh graduates and early-career professionals who are looking to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications in a real-world production environment.

You will work alongside experienced technical teams to support business-critical Java applications, troubleshoot issues, monitor system performance, and develop practical skills in application support and IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide application support for Java-based applications and services.
  • Monitor application performance, availability, and system health.
  • Investigate and resolve application incidents and service requests.
  • Analyze application logs and troubleshoot system and database issues.
  • Support deployment, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Document support procedures, troubleshooting steps, and known issues.
  • Ensure support tickets are managed within agreed service levels.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, and Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with REST or SOAP APIs and web services.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Internship, final-year project, or academic experience involving Java development or support is advantageous.
  • Strong interest in application support, troubleshooting, and enterprise technologies.

GRIT Programme Details

  • 6-month full-time traineeship.

  • Opportunity to develop practical skills in application support, incident management, and production operations.
  • Successful trainees may be considered for future permanent opportunities based on business needs and performance.

Location: Candidate must be willing to work onsite at the client project location near Jurong East MRT.

Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite (5 days per week).

No hybrid or remote work arrangement is available for this role.

All GRaduate Industry trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from Universities, Polytechnics, Institutes of Technical Education (ITE), or other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024, 2025 or 2026
  • Applicants must have no prior work experience and be willing to commit to a six-month full-time traineeship.
