An experienced MES Support Application Engineer providing Level 2 - Level 3 support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and related manufacturing applications. The role will be responsible for ensuring system stability, troubleshooting complex application issues, supporting system enhancements, and working closely with production, warehouse, and IT teams to drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Level 2 - Level 3 technical support for MES and related manufacturing applications to maintain operational continuity
- Monitor and maintain system stability to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing execution processes
- Diagnose and resolve complex application issues through root cause analysis and effective troubleshooting
- Implement and support system enhancements to improve MES functionality and user experience
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and IT teams to align MES operations with business objectives and drive operational excellence
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, shopfloor operations, and warehouse systems to optimize MES support
- Utilize SQL and relational database skills to query, debug, and troubleshoot application data issues
- Follow software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, testing, and deployment procedures to ensure quality system updates
- Work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering timely solutions
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 5 years of experience supporting MES, manufacturing applications, or production systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shopfloor operations, and warehouse systems
- Hands-on experience with MES, ERP, WMS, or other manufacturing-related applications
- Proficient in SQL, relational databases, debugging, and application troubleshooting
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, testing, and deployment processes
- Progression to team lead role would be the possibility for a successful hire.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
