  • Liaise with shipowners, vessel operators, consultants, classification societies, equipment suppliers, and subcontractors on technical matters.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, and implement corrective actions to minimise delays and cost overruns.
  • Ensure all EIT activities comply with occupational health and safety requirements, quality standards, and shipyard procedures.
  • Review technical submissions, material requirements, method statements, risk assessments, and work procedures.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
  • Support tendering and estimation activities by providing technical input, manpower estimates, equipment requirements, and cost assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency, productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, supervisors, and technical personnel within the EIT department.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in electrical, instrumentation, and telecommunication engineering within the shipyard, marine, offshore, or shipbuilding industry.
  • Proven experience managing EIT engineering teams and overseeing project execution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine electrical systems, power generation and distribution, instrumentation, automation, control systems, and telecommunication equipment.
  • Familiarity with shipboard systems, including switchboards, generators, motors, navigation systems, communication systems, alarms, and monitoring systems.
  • Understanding of classification society requirements, marine electrical standards, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in ship repair, newbuilding, vessel conversion, retrofitting, or offshore engineering projects.
  • Strong project management, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and system schematics.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise resources, and meet demanding shipyard schedules.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
