Job Focus
The Assistant Financial Controller / Financial Controller will support the Group CFO in overseeing the Group's finance functions, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial management. The role combines hands-on financial leadership with business partnering to support the Group's continued growth.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee the Group's finance operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable and treasury.
- Lead monthly and year-end closing processes and ensure timely, accurate management reporting.
- Review financial results, reconciliations and variance analysis, providing meaningful commentary to management.
Compliance, Controls & Governance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, GST/VAT and other statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and relevant regulators.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial policies and governance processes, driving continuous improvement.
Financial Planning & Business Partnering
- Lead or support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning and financial projections.
- Prepare and review Front Office P&L and provide analysis on business performance.
- Partner with business units and senior management on financial planning, cost optimisation and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor key financial metrics, identifying risks and opportunities for management attention.
Leadership & Strategic Support
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a strong performance and accountability culture.
- Partner with stakeholders across functions and geographies to support business objectives.
- Support the Group CFO and senior management on strategic initiatives, finance transformation and other key projects.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant experience, ideally in financial services or a regulated environment, with 3–5years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in financial close, audits and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to translate financial information into actionable insights.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
