The posting

The Assistant Project Manager will also support site operations, project documentation, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant WSH requirements and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Coordination

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and managing lifting equipment projects from mobilisation to completion.
  • Prepare project schedules, work programmes and manpower requirements.
  • Coordinate project activities with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments.
  • Monitor project progress and highlight delays, issues or potential risks to the Project Manager.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on project progress, outstanding matters and site issues.
  • Assist in coordinating multiple projects and ensure key deadlines are met.

2. Site Operations

  • Coordinate and supervise site activities relating to the installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning of lifting equipment and related systems.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress, workmanship and site conditions.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials and access requirements for site activities.
  • Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, risk assessments and project specifications.
  • Liaise with site representatives to resolve operational and technical issues.
  • Coordinate rectification works and follow up on outstanding defects until completion.

3. Lifting Equipment & Technical Coordination

  • Support projects involving lifting equipment such as scissor lifts, MEWPs, lifting platforms, goods lifts, hydraulic lifting systems and other related equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Work with engineers, technicians and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Review technical documents, equipment specifications, drawings and installation requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing and statutory requirements where applicable.
  • Assist in troubleshooting project-related technical issues and escalate complex matters to the Project Manager or relevant technical personnel.

4. WSH & Safety

  • Ensure project activities comply with company WSH policies, project requirements and applicable Singapore WSH legislation.
  • Coordinate with WSH personnel, supervisors and site teams to ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, permits and other required WSH documents are prepared and implemented.
  • Monitor site compliance with PPE, working-at-height, lifting operations, LOTO and other relevant safety requirements.
  • Stop and escalate unsafe work practices or conditions where necessary.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inspections and incident investigations when required.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among workers, subcontractors and project personnel.

5. Procurement & Materials

  • Assist with project procurement and ensure materials and equipment are available according to the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding quotations, delivery schedules, technical specifications and documentation.
  • Monitor material usage and minimise unnecessary wastage.
  • Follow up on long-lead items and highlight potential supply issues affecting project progress.

6. Project Cost & Commercial Support

  • Assist the Project Manager in monitoring project costs and budget.
  • Track variations, additional works and potential cost implications.
  • Assist in preparing variation orders, progress claims and supporting documentation.
  • Verify subcontractor works and supporting documents before submission for payment.
  • Maintain proper records of project expenditure and commitments.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain proper project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain project reports, meeting minutes, progress reports and site records.
  • Ensure drawings, specifications, inspection records, test reports and certificates are properly maintained.
  • Track project submissions, approvals, inspections and outstanding items.
  • Assist in preparing handover documents, operation manuals, warranties and completion documentation.

8. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain professional working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to project-related enquiries and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Understand client requirements and ensure project deliverables meet agreed specifications.
  • Assist in managing client feedback, complaints and project issues.
  • Support the Project Manager in maintaining good client relationships and identifying potential follow-up or additional work opportunities.

9. Project Completion & Handover

  • Coordinate project testing, commissioning, inspection and handover activities.
  • Track and close outstanding defects and punch-list items.
  • Ensure all required certificates, reports and documentation are completed before handover.
  • Conduct project close-out activities and ensure proper filing of project records.
  • Assist in post-project review and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in project management, construction, engineering, lifting equipment, mechanical/electrical works or a related industry.
  • Experience in lifting equipment, MEWP, scissor lifts, goods lifts, elevators, cranes or similar equipment will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of site operations and project coordination.
  • Knowledge of Singapore WSH requirements and construction/site safety practices.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Possession of relevant WSH, lifting, work-at-height or other safety certifications will be an advantage.
  • Singapore Class 3 driving licence is preferred.

  • Completed according to agreed schedules.
  • Delivered in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Properly coordinated across clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Properly documented from commencement through completion.
  • Managed with proper attention to project costs and commercial requirements.
  • Completed with minimal defects and satisfactory client handover.
