The Company

Our client is a boutique private equity firm focused on growth investments in the technology sector. They are looking for an Associate/SeniorAssociate, Investor Relations to support fundraising, investor communications and reporting. This is a hands-on opportunity within a small team, offering exposure to different aspects of investor relations and the firm’s technology investment focus.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a lean team, takes ownership of tasks, and is keen to develop their career in private equity investor relations.

The Role

Working closely with the Director of Investor Relations and Managing Partner, you will support the firm’s fundraising and investor relations activities, including preparing investor materials, maintaining relationships with limited partners (LPs), conducting market research, and coordinating investor reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising Support

  • Prepare fundraising materials, including private placement memoranda (PPMs), teasers, due diligence questionnaires, and LP presentations, ensuring accuracy and professional presentation.
  • Support initial LP communications, arrange meetings, and document meeting notes and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain fundraising trackers and support the management of the fundraising pipeline.

2. Investor Relations

  • Act as a secondary contact for LPs, supporting day-to-day inquiries and information requests.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual investor reports and material event notices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Maintain LP databases and CRM systems, keeping investor information and communication records complete and up to date.

3. Market Research

  • Track global market trends, industry developments, and fundraising activities.
  • Identify prospective LPs and conduct preliminary research to assess their investment interests and suitability.
  • Monitor relevant industry conferences and LP events, and support the team’s participation.

4. Internal Coordination

  • Work with investment, risk, and finance teams to gather and verify information for investor reporting.
  • Coordinate LP due diligence meetings, annual general meetings, and other investor events.
  • Maintain the IR team’s filing system and document repository.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in finance, economics, marketing, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience with a private equity or venture capital firm, family office, private bank, investment bank, or consulting firm.
  • Experience in investor relations, fundraising support, or client relationship management is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of private equity and the relationship between limited partners and general partners (LPs and GPs).
  • Familiarity with private equity performance metrics, including IRR, MOIC, TVPI, and DPI.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with the ability to independently prepare polished presentations and data analysis tables.
  • Basic financial analysis skills and the ability to read and understand financial statements.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Fluent Mandarin to support communication and liaison with Mandarin-speaking LPs in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
  • Strong follow-through, with the ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy in data and investor-facing materials.
  • Proactive in learning, responsible, hands-on, and collaborative.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach when working with internal teams and external investors.
