Salt Bakes is looking for a friendly and reliable Shop Assistant to help create a welcoming experience for our customers and keep daily shop operations running smoothly.

What you’ll do

  • Welcome customers, answer questions and recommend bakery products.
  • Take orders and process payments accurately.
  • Pack and present baked goods neatly, checking product labels and orders.
  • Refill displays and keep products looking fresh and appealing.
  • Keep the counter, display area and shop clean and organised.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, restocking and stock counts.
  • Follow food-safety, hygiene and cash-handling procedures.
  • Work with the team to support promotions and busy periods.

What we’re looking for

  • Friendly, helpful and comfortable speaking with customers.
  • Reliable, punctual and attentive to detail.
  • Able to work well in a team and stay calm during busy periods.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling light lifting.
  • Retail, café or food-service experience is an advantage; training can be provided.
  • Able to work [full-time/part-time] and [weekends/public holidays, if required].
