Job Description
About Canette Canette Wine Club is a fine wine bar and restaurant in a conservation shophouse on Boon Tat Street, in Singapore's CBD. We serve a curated wine list alongside a seasonal food menu, with knowledgeable and personal service.
The Role The Bar Manager runs Canette's bar and wine programme day to day. Reporting to the Director, you will lead the service team, look after the wine list and cellar, and make sure every guest has an excellent experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Run daily bar and floor operations from opening to close, keeping service standards high
- Develop the wine list and beverage programme with the Director: selection, pricing and the by-the-glass rotation
- Manage supplier relationships, purchasing, stock control, monthly stocktakes and cellar storage conditions
- Control beverage costs and margins, and report on sales, stock variances and performance
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise bar and service staff, including regular wine and service training
- Advise guests on wine selection and food pairings, and coordinate private events and wine club activities
- Keep operations compliant with SFA licensing, liquor licence conditions, food hygiene and workplace safety rules
- Use POS and inventory systems for reporting and day-to-day operations
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality, F&B Management or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in the wine industry related environment (wine bar or wine service), including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
- Strong wine knowledge, especially of French and Old World regions
- A recognised wine qualification (e.g. WSET Level 2 or above, or sommelier certification) is an advantage
- Hands-on experience with stock management, cost control and POS systems
- Good leadership and communication skills, with fluent English
- Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
