about the company We are seeking an experienced Bid / Tender Manager to direct the end-to-end bidding lifecycle for major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to formulate competitive, commercially viable proposals from initial appraisal through to final award.

  • End-to-End Bid Leadership: Direct the complete submission process for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring strict adherence to client deadlines and compliance standards.
  • Commercial Strategy & Costing: Formulate competitive pricing strategies, detailed budgets, and cost estimates. Critically evaluate internal cost breakdowns, subcontractor quotes, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to maximise competitiveness.
  • Risk & Contract Analysis: Scrutinise technical specifications and contract terms to flag commercial risks and operational obligations prior to submission.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Engineering, Procurement, and Quantity Surveying departments to consolidate all necessary technical and financial data.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison for client clarifications, while negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing.
  • Management Reporting & Handover: Pitch pricing recommendations and feasibility assessments to senior leadership. Upon a successful win, facilitate a seamless handover to the project execution team.

skills and experience required

  • At least a Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • Min. 5+ years of bid management experience within the heavy civil construction sector and leading a team.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale local transport (LTA) /infrastructure contracts.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and industry-standard estimating software.
