BMS Engineer - Automation

Job Description

An established engineering solutions provider in Singapore is looking for a Building Management System (BMS) Engineer to join its engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, engineering, programming, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS).

The role will support building automation projects across commercial buildings, pharmaceutical facilities, data centres, industrial facilities and other mission-critical environments in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop BMS/IBMS control strategies based on project specifications and operational requirements.
  • Configure, program, test and commission BMS controllers, field devices and supervisory software.
  • Integrate BMS with HVAC, electrical systems, power monitoring systems, fire alarm systems, access control, lighting control and other third-party building systems.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and performance optimisation.
  • Develop BMS graphics, controller programming and system configurations according to project requirements.
  • Prepare engineering documentation including functional design specifications, I/O lists, control schematics and as-built documentation.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning and system handover activities.
  • Provide technical support, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and system upgrades for existing installations.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and internal project teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable quality procedures, industry standards and workplace safety requirements.
  • Support project activities across different customer sites and project locations in Singapore.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in Building Management Systems (BMS), Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS), Building Automation or Industrial Automation.
  • Good understanding of HVAC control systems and building services.
  • Hands-on experience with BMS software, graphics development, controller programming, testing and system commissioning.
  • Familiarity with communication and automation protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, KNX, OPC and/or MQTT would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP communication and system integration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, control schematics, I/O lists and project documentation.
  • Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within project teams.
  • Willing and able to work on-site across project locations in Singapore.
  • This position is open to candidates with existing eligibility to work in Singapore, including Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and eligible LTVP holders.

Experience working with one or more of the following BMS/building automation platforms would be advantageous:
