The posting

We are seeking an experienced Boat Yard Manager to oversee our daily marine service operations. You will manage vessel logistics, schedule repair workflows, lead a team of marine technicians, and maintain safe yard conditions. The ideal candidate blends strong technical knowledge of boats with excellent leadership and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Logistics & Hauling: Coordinate all boat movements, haul-outs, launches, and set blocks using heavy equipment like travel lifts, forklifts, and cranes.

• Team Leadership: Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and train mechanics, painters, and yard crew.

• Project Management: Create accurate repair estimates, track project timelines, and ensure work is completed on budget.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce local maritime, safety (OSHA), and environmental regulations regarding hazardous waste and runoff.

• Customer Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for boat owners, providing progress updates and resolving service complaints.

• Inventory Control: Monitor yard supplies, tools, and equipment maintenance schedules to prevent operational downtime.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in boat yard operations, marine service management, or a similar maritime leadership role.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of boat systems, including hull repair, marine electronics, and diesel/outboard engines.

• Equipment Skills: Proven experience operating heavy marine machinery (e.g., travel lifts, crane, forklift).

• Certifications: Marine industry certifications (such as Certified Marina/Ship repair Manager) and heavy equipment licenses are highly preferred.

• Physical Ability: Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
