The posting

1. Role Overview

The Business Analyst supports the delivery, enhancement and operations of enterprise digital systems and products. The role serves as the liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into clear, implementable requirements and that delivered solutions meet user, operational and organisational needs.

2. Business Analysis and Requirements Management

· Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops and requirements gathering sessions to understand business needs and operational challenges. · Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, digitalisation and automation. · Document business, functional and non-functional requirements, process flows, use cases, user journeys and business rules. · Translate business requirements into clear epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria. · Perform impact assessments for initiatives, enhancements and change requests. · Maintain end-to-end traceability from business requirements through solution design, testing and implementation.

3. Product Delivery and Backlog Management

· Support Product Owners and business stakeholders in managing and prioritising the product backlog based on business value, user needs, risk and operational impact. · Refine and maintain epics, features and user stories to ensure that items are clear, testable and ready for delivery. · Support definition of release scope, minimum viable scope and implementation priorities. · Evaluate enhancement requests ,clarify intended outcomes and support recommendation of practical implementation approaches. · Support product delivery from discovery and requirements definition through implementation, release and post-release review. · Gather user feedback and operational insights to identify opportunities for product and service improvement.

4. Agile Delivery Support

· Participate in relevant Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives. · Collaborate with delivery teams to clarify requirements, business rules and acceptance criteria during sprint execution. ·Monitor delivery progress and highlight risks, blockers, dependencies and decisions requiring stakeholder attention. · Support sprint and release planning, deployment readiness and business validation activities. · Maintain backlog hygiene and ensure delivery artefacts remain current throughout the delivery lifecycle. · Contribute to continuous improvement of team delivery practices, templates and ways of working.

5. Stakeholder and Vendor Management

· Serve as a key liaison among business stakeholders, project teams, vendors and technical teams. · Facilitate discussions to align stakeholders on requirements, scope, priorities, dependencies and solution approaches. · Coordinate with vendors on clarifications, implementation activities, issue resolution and enhancement delivery. · Prepare status updates, presentation materials and decision papers for project, operational and governance forums. · Track actions, risks, issues, dependencies and decisions arising from stakeholder discussions.

6. Testing, Release and Operational Support

· Develop business test scenarios, test cases and validation criteria. · Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing, including defect triage, retesting and closure. · Validate that delivered functionality meets agreed requirements and acceptance criteria. · Support release readiness, production validation and post-implementation review activities. · Assist with operational issue analysis, incident investigation, defect resolution and enhancement planning. · Maintain relevant business, project, testing and operational documentation.

7. Required Qualifications and Experience

· Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related discipline. · Minimum five years of relevant experience in business analysis, digital delivery or a related role. · Experience in requirements elicitation, process analysis, user story development and solution delivery. · Experience working in Agile delivery environments and using Jira or an equivalent backlog management tool. · Strong analytical, facilitation, communication and stakeholder management skills. · Ability to translate business needs into clear and implementable requirements for technical teams.

8. Preferred Experience

· Experience in public sector, healthcare, education, social service or citizen-facing digital systems. · Experience in customer journey mapping, service design or user experience analysis. · Experience supporting production systems, operational improvement and enhancement delivery. · Familiarity with modern software delivery, DevOps and Microsoft technology platforms.

9. Key Deliverables

· Business and functional requirements; epics, user stories and acceptance criteria. · Process flows, use cases, user journeys and business rules. · Prioritised product backlog and refinement artefacts. · UAT plans, test cases, validation results and defect records. · Status reports, decision records, risk and issue logs, and stakeholder materials. · Operational, release and enhancement documentation.

* Senior Consultant level: 7 or more years of relevant experience.
