The posting

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support digital and data initiatives within a marine and shipping environment. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, developers and data teams to understand operational challenges, gather requirements, analyse data and deliver technology solutions that improve business outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong background in shipping, marine operations, maritime technology or logistics systems who enjoy bridging business and technology.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers and data teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Support Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT and implementation.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirement gathering sessions.
  • Analyse operational and business data to generate insights and support decision making.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.

Key Requirements

  • Strong understanding of marine, shipping or maritime operations.
  • Experience working within shipping lines, vessel operations, freight, ports, terminal operations, marine logistics or maritime technology environments.
  • Hands-on experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Experience working in Agile projects and collaborating with technical teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience interpreting data and solving business problems.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis tools is highly preferred.
