Job Summary

The Business Development & Sales Executive drives offline sales growth by acquiring new B2B customers, expanding retail and wholesale channels, promoting consumer electronic products, and achieving sales targets within the consumer electronics market.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential B2B customers such as electronics retailers, mobile phone shops, wholesalers, distributors, and corporate buyers to expand the customer base.
  • Proactively source new customers using cold calling, WhatsApp, email, referrals, networking, field visits, and trade shows to generate sales opportunities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to present product offerings and establish new business relationships.
  • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline with detailed customer information, business needs, and follow-up status to track prospects effectively.
  • Convert qualified prospects into active purchasing accounts and meet new customer acquisition targets.
  • Promote the company’s product range by explaining specifications, features, pricing, and competitive advantages to customers.
  • Recommend products tailored to customers’ target markets, profiles, budgets, and purchasing requirements.
  • Introduce new product launches, promotional bundles, and seasonal offers to existing and prospective customers.
  • Provide sales materials such as catalogues, quotations, and samples to support customer decision-making.
  • Collect and report customer feedback on product quality, packaging, pricing, and market acceptance to inform product strategy.
  • Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and price lists aligned with company pricing and discount policies.
  • Negotiate prices, order quantities, promotional terms, and commercial conditions to close sales within approved guidelines.
  • Follow up on quotations and enquiries to convert opportunities into confirmed purchase orders.
  • Encourage bulk purchases, product range expansion, and repeat orders to maximize sales revenue.
  • Monitor sales opportunities’ progress and maintain accurate records of negotiations and expected closing dates.
  • Document and obtain approval for all confirmed orders, prices, and terms according to company procedures.
  • Identify and develop new retail outlets, resellers, wholesale partners, and distribution channels to increase product availability.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers such as shop owners and purchasing managers to support channel growth.
  • Recommend product assortments and order quantities based on customer demand and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities for bulk supply, corporate gifts, promotional bundles, and B2B product packages.
  • Monitor product sell-through, customer demand, and replenishment needs to support inventory management.
  • Explore new territories, customer segments, and partnerships to sustain business growth.
  • Maintain regular contact and conduct scheduled visits with existing customers to support retention and growth.
  • Follow up on customers’ purchasing plans, stock replenishment, and new product needs to encourage repeat sales.
  • Introduce cross-selling opportunities and new products to increase account value.
  • Monitor customer purchasing patterns and resolve routine sales-related issues professionally.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on product quality, warranty, and technical matters to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor competitors’ products, pricing, promotions, and distribution to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Gather customer insights on preferred brands, specifications, price points, and buying behavior to inform sales strategy.
  • Provide regular market intelligence and actionable recommendations to management.
  • Verify product availability, pricing, and delivery lead times before confirming orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and finance teams to manage order fulfillment, invoicing, and payment follow-up.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts in line with company credit policies.
  • Escalate significant issues such as stock shortages, defects, delivery delays, or pricing disputes promptly.
  • Avoid unauthorized commitments on product specifications, delivery dates, warranties, discounts, or credit terms.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for revenue, gross profit, and customer acquisition.
  • Maintain updated customer databases, sales pipelines, quotation records, and purchase order histories.
  • Submit regular reports on sales performance, customer visits, quotations, order conversions, and market developments.
  • Prepare sales forecasts based on customer requirements, confirmed orders, and qualified opportunities.
  • Review sales performance and propose action plans to address shortfalls.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of sales activities and customer records in CRM, ERP, or reporting systems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product range, specifications, pricing, and approved claims to ensure accurate communication.
  • Comply with company policies on pricing, discounts, credit, order approvals, and sales documentation.
  • Observe product safety, labeling, and regulatory requirements when promoting and supplying electronic products.
  • Handle customer and company pricing information confidentially.
  • Represent the company professionally during customer meetings, business visits, exhibitions, and sales activities.
  • Communicate effectively in English to engage with customers and internal teams; additional languages relevant to the customer base are advantageous.
  • Travel locally as needed to conduct customer visits and business development activities.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or B2B customer management.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, mobile accessories, IT products, retail distribution, or wholesale trading.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand electronic accessories product specifications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive, independent, and target-driven with capability to conduct field sales activities.
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple customers and sales opportunities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, spreadsheets, and sales reporting systems.
  • Valid driving licence and own transport are advantageous for field sales.
