About the Role

SagePaths Global Education is seeking an experienced Business Operations Director to oversee and strengthen the company’s business operations, performance management, channel management, financial planning and long-term business development.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to establish measurable business objectives, improve operational efficiency, manage key business partners, and support the company’s long-term financial and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and oversee the company’s day-to-day business operations and internal business management processes.
  2. Develop and implement KPI and OKR frameworks for employees and business teams, including performance targets, assessment criteria, incentive structures and performance tracking.
  3. Monitor business performance and operational data, identify performance gaps, and provide management with actionable recommendations.
  4. Manage and maintain relationships with the company’s business channels, education agents and strategic partners, including performance review, commercial terms and ongoing collaboration.
  5. Work closely with the Finance Department and senior management to establish revenue targets, business budgets, commission structures, incentive schemes and reward policies.
  6. Participate in the company’s annual budgeting, financial forecasting and long-term financial planning.
  7. Support management in evaluating new business initiatives, investments and expansion opportunities through financial and commercial analysis.
  8. Coordinate and communicate with external investors and strategic stakeholders, including preparation of business information, financial materials, presentations and management reports.
  9. Work with internal finance, legal and management teams to review and coordinate commercial agreements, financial documents and other business-related documentation.
  10. Establish and improve internal business systems, reporting mechanisms and operational procedures to support the company’s continued growth.
  11. Undertake other strategic and operational responsibilities assigned by senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above from a recognised university.
  • Academic background in Business, Finance, Economics, Management or a related discipline.
  • Background or professional exposure in Finance, Wealth Management, Business Systems, Corporate Finance or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, performance management, financial planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Experience in developing or managing KPI/OKR systems, business targets, incentive structures or performance evaluation frameworks is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Fluent English communication and writing skills, with the ability to understand and work with legal, financial and commercial documents.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, both written and spoken, is required for business purposes, as the role involves regular communication and documentation with Mandarin-speaking clients, investors and business partners.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Able to work independently, exercise sound business judgement and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
