Job Description
- Manage construction activities and progress independently to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Understand and interpret drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Plan, organise, and set up the construction site, developing sequential job plans for the smooth execution of projects, achieving cost, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives.
- Carry out resource planning, including site staff, subcontractors, and materials, to ensure their effective deployment.
- Attend internal coordination meetings with subcontractors/suppliers.
- Attend daily tool box meeting and pre-start meeting.
- Attend project kick-off meetings, project team meetings, and progress updates to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Monitor the performance of all site staff, workers, and subcontractors to ensure high-quality output.
- Control materials, tools, and equipment to ensure timely ordering, delivery, and usage on-site.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in construction drawings with consultants before work proceeds.
- Manage the schedules of all site staff and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Review the Project Construction Plan, including site utilisation plans, hoisting plans, temporary utilities, and temporary offices.
- Ensure adequate quality control measures through on-site and off-site inspections, including pre-handover and completion inspections.
- Verify that approved and correct materials are used in accordance with project specifications and certifications.
- Oversee safety compliance, ensuring that all site activities meet local regulations and company safety policies.
- Plan and prepare the Method of Works, Method Statement, and Safe Work Procedures for submission and presentation to the Project Manager, Project Director, and Client for review and approval.
- Ensure that all approved work methods and procedures are properly communicated and implemented on site in accordance with the approved plan, project requirements, and applicable safety standards. Monitor the execution of the works to ensure they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the approved procedures.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and government agencies to resolve any construction-related issues or concerns.
- Ensure that all documentation, including permits, safety reports, and progress updates, is accurately maintained and submitted as required.
- Manage and mitigate project risks by identifying potential issues and implementing solutions early.
- Lead site staff and subcontractor teams in fostering a collaborative working environment to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets to ensure costs are controlled and remain within approved limits.
- Perform all duties in accordance with CCCC polices, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or other relevant authorities.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 8 years in the management and construction of for vehicular structures and road projects.
- Experience with Land Transport Authority (LTA) projects will be a strong advantage.
- Experience in traffic diversion works, utility diversion/protection works, and viaduct construction will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, quality management systems, Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, construction methodologies, and contract documents.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant government authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Strong leadership, planning, organizational, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiar with Singapore construction practices, LTA specifications and requirements, authority submission procedures, and relevant industry codes and standards.
- Self-motivated, independent, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Willing to work at the project site, including night shifts, weekends, or rotating shifts when operationally required.
