Job Description
- Procurement Strategy: Orchestrate the complete project procurement lifecycle. You will develop comprehensive procurement schedules, draft tender invitations, lead rigorous evaluations and negotiations, and finalize formal contract awards.
- Contract Administration: Oversee all post-contract duties, including the meticulous drafting and critical review of formal project correspondence and the full lifecycle management of insurance claims.
- Risk Management: Actively scrutinize tender documents, letters of award, and specific contractual clauses to pinpoint commercial vulnerabilities and implement robust, proactive mitigation strategies.
- Claims Management: Strategize, prepare, and substantiate Extension of Time (EOT) claims in close collaboration with project planners, while expertly navigating variation claims and Loss & Expense submissions.
- Financial Control: Maintain strict oversight of project economics by generating accurate cash flow projections, actively monitoring budgets, and delivering detailed cost analysis reports.
- Dispute Resolution & Advisory: Serve as the primary focal point for navigating contractual ambiguities and resolving disputes. You will provide clear commercial interpretations and strategic counsel directly to the Project Director and executive management.
- Commercial Leadership: Champion the commercial department by leading, guiding, and mentoring the Quantity Surveyor (QS) team through their daily operations and professional development.
Requirements
- Education: A Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalently recognized qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of proven, hands-on experience focusing on contracts management specifically within the construction sector.
- Domain Expertise: A comprehensive grasp of contract law, construction procurement methodologies, and commercial principles. You must also possess a strong working knowledge of standard industry frameworks, specifically PSSCOC and/or LTACOC.
- Technical Tools: Advanced proficiency in modern contract management software platforms as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
