The posting

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Technical & Governance Manager to drive technical competency, operational excellence and change governance across multiple mission-critical data centre sites in APAC.

This role combines technical oversight of facility infrastructure changes with the development of technical training programmes and operational best practices. The successful candidate will serve as a Change Advisory Board (CAB) Approver, assessing proposed changes to data centre facility infrastructure to ensure technical feasibility, operational readiness, risk mitigation and compliance with established policies.

In addition, the incumbent will lead technical capability development across electrical, mechanical and general facility systems, working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to strengthen training materials, standardise operational knowledge and enhance workforce competency.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong data centre operations professional with experience in change management, technical mentoring and continuous improvement, alongside an interest in leveraging AI and digital learning technologies to modernise technical training.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Change Governance & Technical Risk Management

  • Review and approve Change Requests (CRs) affecting data centre facility infrastructure, ensuring changes are technically feasible and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Evaluate proposed changes for operational risks, business impact, compliance requirements and potential service disruptions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure safe and effective execution of infrastructure changes.
  • Participate in regular Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, providing technical guidance and recommendations on proposed changes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of change approvals and ensure adherence to established change management policies and procedures.
  • Support off-hours CAB meetings and emergency change reviews when required.

2. Technical Capability Development & Knowledge Management

  • Develop and deliver technical training programmes covering electrical, mechanical and general facility systems within data centre environments.
  • Conduct technical onboarding for new hires and ongoing competency development for existing data centre operations personnel.
  • Facilitate practical workshops, hands-on training sessions, system walkthroughs and operational simulations to strengthen technical proficiency.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop, review and enhance technical training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides and operational manuals.
  • Assess training effectiveness and identify competency gaps, implementing improvements to support operational readiness and technical performance.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and the adoption of consistent operational best practices across regional data centre sites.

3. Digital Learning & AI-Enabled Training Innovation

  • Leverage generative AI and digital learning tools to transform traditional classroom materials into engaging, self-paced online learning programmes.
  • Develop digital training content incorporating narrated videos, interactive modules, knowledge checks and practical learning scenarios.
  • Create AI-assisted assessments and self-marking quizzes to automate scoring, provide feedback and identify technical competency gaps.
  • Use operational incidents, lessons learned and technical documentation to develop relevant case studies, troubleshooting scenarios and refresher training materials.
  • Explore opportunities to improve training accessibility, consistency and scalability through e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital technologies.

4. Operational Excellence & Regional Collaboration

  • Work with regional data centre operations teams and technical SMEs to strengthen engineering standards, operational consistency and knowledge transfer.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and, where applicable, Centre of Excellence (CoE) activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical processes, training effectiveness and operational risk management.
  • Influence stakeholders across different functions and sites to promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous learning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data centre operations, particularly in critical facilities infrastructure.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and general facility systems within mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in Change Management processes and reviewing or approving infrastructure change requests.
  • ITIL certification, preferably ITIL 4, with a sound understanding of change management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical training, mentoring, coaching or developing the capabilities of engineering and operations teams.
  • Experience contributing to a Centre of Excellence, operational standards or regional technical improvement initiatives would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools, prompt engineering, e-learning platforms, LMS and digital content creation tools.
  • Experience developing online learning modules, digital assessments or AI-assisted training materials would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation and presentation skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
