Job Summary

Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established departmental policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), radiation safety requirements, and applicable clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with approved SOPs and established clinical protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, confirm the requested examination, and ensure that relevant procedural consent and radiation safety requirements are fulfilled.
  • Ensure imaging quality is satisfactory, images are correctly labelled, and the requested examination is completed before submission for reporting or release to the patient, where applicable.
  • Verify that examination codes entered into the system accurately correspond to the requested imaging procedures.
  • Explain imaging procedures, including the process and estimated duration, to help patients understand what to expect.
  • Safeguard patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the examination.
  • Apply appropriate radiation protection measures to minimise unnecessary ionising radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public.
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours duties when required, in accordance with departmental arrangements and hospital service standards.
  • Perform daily equipment quality assurance (QA) checks in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and departmental protocols.
  • Carry out other relevant duties assigned by the Director, consistent with the role and applicable professional requirements.
