About the Role

The Director of Professional Learning (PL) ensures staff across the Education In Motion group of colleges have access to high-quality professional development that supports ongoing learning and growth. The role focuses on ensuring PL is purposeful and aligned across the group.

Working with the Chief Education Officer, Group Education Team, HR, and school PL Leads, the Director supports strategic direction and partnerships, ensuring PL aligns with organisational strategy and goals. This includes identifying the academic and professional support team learning needs and developing approaches that support ongoing professional growth.

The role oversees group-wide PL initiatives, frameworks, and platforms, ensuring consistency across schools while allowing contextual flexibility. It provides leadership and guidance to PL staff to maintain high standards in learning design, delivery, and evaluation.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience leading professional learning at the HQ or regional level in the K-12 education sector.
  • Experience and knowledge of educational programmes including related teacher training requirements
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and innovations in learning technologies
  • Experienced in professional learning programme design, facilitation, and event management
  • Strong project management skills
  • High level of technical competence using M365 applications
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and open-mindedness
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong ownership of work
  • Self-driven, a team player, and well-organised with the ability to work in a mature, constructive, and independent manner

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a group professional learning approach aligned with Education and HR Strategy
  • Identify learner needs through consultation with school leadership and survey data analysis
  • Develop and manage the Professional Learning budget
  • Develop and deliver high-quality PL programmes, workshops, seminars, and training sessions
  • Oversee group-wide leadership programmes continually innovating to enhance learner experience
  • Evaluate programme effectiveness using data to inform ongoing improvements
  • Oversee management of PL Platforms, analytics and reporting
  • Keep up to date with current research, trends, and best practices in professional learning
  • Collaborate with school PL leads, HR, Talent Acquisition, and Marketing to embed strategic PL programmes
  • Build relationships with partners, vendors, and learning institutes globally
