Noble Canine Oasis is looking for an experienced and responsible Dog Daycare Supervisor to oversee our daily daycare operations, ensure the safety and welfare of dogs in our care, and provide guidance and leadership to our daycare team.
This is a hands-on supervisory role suited for someone who understands canine behaviour, is confident managing groups of dogs, and can independently coordinate day-to-day daycare activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with management while taking ownership of daily floor operations, staff deployment, and maintaining operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Daycare Operations & Management

- Plan and manage appropriate dog groupings based on temperament, behaviour, compatibility, and individual needs.
- Ensure daily routines, feeding schedules, enrichment activities, rest periods, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
- Monitor daycare attendance and coordinate operational requirements with the reception, transport, grooming, and training teams.
- Identify operational challenges and proactively implement appropriate solutions within established guidelines.
Dog Behaviour, Safety & Welfare
- Monitor canine interactions and recognise early signs of stress, discomfort, over-arousal, and potential conflict.
- Intervene appropriately to prevent incidents and maintain a safe daycare environment.
- Ensure dogs requiring individual management, decompression, or separation receive appropriate care.
- Respond to dog-related incidents, conduct initial assessments, and ensure accurate documentation and timely escalation to management.
- Promote humane, force-free, welfare-first handling practices throughout the facility.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Lead, guide, and supervise daycare attendants during daily operations.
- Allocate responsibilities and ensure adequate supervision across daycare areas.
- Provide practical coaching and feedback on canine handling, group management, and operational procedures.
- Monitor staff performance, accountability, and adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Encourage effective teamwork, communication, and a positive working environment.
Administration & Reporting
- Ensure daily operational checklists, attendance records, and incident reports are completed accurately.
- Provide management with updates on daycare operations, staff performance, and dog-related concerns.
- Maintain clear communication with relevant departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support the implementation and improvement of operational procedures and safety standards.
- Escalate significant incidents, client complaints, disciplinary matters, and decisions requiring management approval.
Job Requirements
- Prior experience working in a professional dog daycare, boarding facility, training centre, or similar animal care environment.
- Good understanding of canine body language, behaviour, social interactions, and group dynamics.
- Confident and experienced in handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and behavioural needs.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- Responsible, proactive, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of daily operations.
- Willingness to work hands-on alongside the daycare team.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in an active, physically demanding environment.
- Committed to humane, force-free, and welfare-focused animal care practices.
- Able to work according to operational roster requirements, including weekends or public holidays where required.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can do more than simply supervise dogs.
The ideal candidate should be able to lead a team, anticipate potential issues, make informed decisions about canine welfare, and maintain a safe, structured, and positive daycare environment.
You should be confident taking ownership of daily operations while knowing when to seek management guidance on more significant matters.
Above all, we're looking for someone who genuinely cares about dogs, values teamwork, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of animal care.
