Job Summary

Prepare and revise detailed technical drawings using CAD software to support construction projects. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of design documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts based on specifications, sketches, or instructions from engineers or project managers
  • Apply drafting standards, guidelines, and industry best practices to create accurate technical drawings
  • Use AutoCAD software to produce precise drawings with correct dimensions, annotations, and symbols
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, schedules, and material lists for construction or manufacturing
  • Revise drawings as directed by project managers or design professionals to accommodate design changes or resolve issues
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and management to clarify design requirements and coordinate drafting activities
  • Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards and project specifications
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical drawing files to ensure easy retrieval and version control
  • Execute ad hoc tasks assigned by superiors or management

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a relevant field
  • 1 to 2 years of drafting experience in construction or related industries
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks and Revit is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and engineering principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
