Electrical QA/QC Engineer – Power Plant / Electrical Projects

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control activities for major power plant, Waste-to-Energy and electrical infrastructure projects in Singapore.

The successful candidate will perform inspections, maintain quality documentation and coordinate with construction, commissioning, contractors and client teams to ensure electrical works meet project specifications and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC inspections for electrical installation works throughout project execution.
  • Implement and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection procedures and quality documentation.
  • Inspect installation of LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motors, generators, UPS/DC systems and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Inspect power/control cables, cable trays, terminations, glands and earthing systems.
  • Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, specifications and method statements.
  • Raise and coordinate Inspection Requests (IRs) with contractors, clients and third-party inspectors.
  • Identify non-conforming works and support management and closure of NCRs, corrective actions and punch-list items.
  • Witness electrical testing and inspection activities in accordance with approved ITPs.
  • Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning activities where required.
  • Verify equipment and materials against approved specifications, drawings and documentation.
  • Review material certificates, test reports and vendor quality documentation.
  • Conduct site quality surveillance and ensure electrical installations comply with approved drawings and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Electrical Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, HSE, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor workmanship and quality performance.
  • Support electrical system walkdowns and completion inspections.
  • Maintain inspection records, test reports and quality documentation.
  • Assist with preparation of quality dossiers, turnover packages and final handover documentation.
  • Ensure all electrical quality activities comply with applicable project specifications, standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience as an Electrical QA/QC Engineer or Electrical Inspector on engineering/construction projects.
  • Experience within power plants, Waste-to-Energy, substations, utilities or major industrial projects is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of LV, MV and HV electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motors, generators, UPS/DC systems, cables and earthing systems.
  • Experience working with ITPs, Inspection Requests, NCRs, punch lists and quality documentation.
  • Able to read and interpret SLDs, electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing, FAT/SAT, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, vendors and third-party inspectors.
  • Good documentation, communication and site coordination skills.
  • Able to work independently in a site-based project environment.
