We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Electrical Supervisor / Engineer to lead our electrical crews, drive project execution, and uphold the highest safety standards in the field.
Position Overview
The Electrical Supervisor / Engineer oversees day-to-day electrical operations, leading a team of electricians and technicians. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering plans and field installation, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within code, and to design specifications. You will be responsible for job-site safety enforcement, task scheduling, quality assurance, material management, and mentoring crew members.
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership & Supervision: Direct and supervise electricians, technicians, and subcontractors. Assign daily work orders, set performance goals, and manage site productivity.
- Safety Enforcement: Champion a zero-incident safety culture. Conduct daily toolbox talks, enforce Safety compliance, ensure protocols, and verify appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
- Field Execution & Quality Control: Interpret electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications. Inspect installations to ensure strict compliance with the EMA and site regulations.
- Planning & Scheduling: Coordinate work sequences with general contractors, project managers, and other trades to prevent delays and meet project milestones.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Serve as the on-site technical authority for complex electrical issues involving low-to-medium voltage systems, motor controls, switchgear, transformers, and instrumentation.
- Material & Equipment Logistics: Track on-site inventory, verify tooling needs, order materials ahead of schedule, and minimize waste and downtime.
- Reporting & Administration: Maintain accurate daily logs, track work hours, document change orders, complete safety incident reports, and participate in project status meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Licensing / Certification: LEW Grade 7 will be advantageous. Electrical certification
- Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of hands-on electrical experience in a construction / maintenance setting. At least 2–4 years in a direct supervisory, foreman, or lead electrician role.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth mastery of the EMA requirements. Comprehensive understanding of Electrical Safety in the Workplace. Strong working knowledge of electrical power distribution, conduit bending/installation, wiring methods, terminations, and switchgear.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of resolving conflicts, mentoring technicians, and keeping the team motivated and productive.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site, stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders/scaffolding, work in varied weather conditions.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Medium Voltage (MV) systems (e.g., 4.16kV – 34.5kV) and substations.
- Experience with automated control systems, or SCADA integration.
- Familiarity with digital construction and management tools.
- First Aid / CPR / AED certified.
